Carrots
Plant Date: April 1st (4 weeks before last average frost date)
Planting: Make sure the soil is loose and free of stones so the roots can grow. Do not use mulch before you plant as it can cause the roots to fork. Plant the seeds 3-4" apart.
Care: After planting you can lightly mulch. Water at least 1" a week and weed around the plants. Fertilize after 5-6 weeks.
Harvest: The carrots are ready after about 2 1/2 months. You can harvest them whenever they reach the desired size. Don't forget to eat the greens too!
